SALES VISIT - USED

AVOID this dealership at all costs, if you do decide to gamble and buy from Jeff's Northshore google the VIN number so you can see what auction they bought it from and for how much. I bought a 2018 chevy s gamble and buy from Jeff's Northshore google the VIN number so you can see what auction they bought it from and for how much. I bought a 2018 chevy silverado and had numerous issued in the first month of owning. the won't fix unless I pay 100% of the cost. after I googled the VIN number I see they bought it from hansen auction group for $15k less than what I paid. the truck has serious issues...which is why they got it from an auction for so cheap....buyer beware!!! We purchased a totally restored 1969 classic mustang from north shore. No issues. Until recently we have asked for backup proof that per his advertisem*nt it was numbers matching , important in car colle north shore. No issues. Until recently we have asked for backup proof that per his advertisem*nt it was numbers matching , important in car collections , and truly did have have a three year restoration. We tried contacting jeff for over six months this past year. Many emails and phone calls which were always intercepted by his Assistant. All we wanted were pictures of the restoration and some backup history on the car. Jeff has never responded. Finally. His assistant told me jeff felt he had no duty to further discuss anything with me Period Huh ? What kind of a dealer does not communicate with his past customers ? Now. We wonder what he is maybe hiding ? What in his add is maybe not as it is stated. We have also filed a complaint with the bbb as I do not think anyone should ever buy a car when the dealer goes dark on you after you drive off . We suspect his claim and or warranty as stated now may not be as claimed as I now have to pay to have an expert verify what jeff has claimed. This just does not seem right I would not recommend this dealer More

FAQs

How do you know if a dealer is trustworthy? ›

Their Reputation

Word of mouth goes a long way. If you've heard bad things about a dealer, especially from more than one person, then that dealer probably isn't so great. If the dealer has great reviews on their site and a good reputation with the community, then odds are you can trust them.

How do I know if my car salesman is legit? ›

Make sure that the Total Cash Price on the written contract matches the price that you were told. If the prices are different, you may be the victim of fraud. If the dealership refuses to honor the representations made to you by the salesperson, refuse to sign the contract and walk away from the dealership.

Who is the car dealership guy in real life? ›

Yossi "Joe" Levi, perhaps better known to the internet as Car Dealership Guy, began his automotive journey as a second-generation Israeli immigrant working in his father's used car dealership, Danis Auto, in Philadelphia, PA.

What not to tell a dealership? ›

Eliminating the following statements when you buy a car can help you negotiate a better deal.
  • 'I love this car! ' ...
  • 'I've got to have a monthly payment of $350. ' ...
  • 'My lease is up next week. ' ...
  • 'I want $10,000 for my trade-in, and I won't take a penny less. ' ...
  • 'I've been looking all over for this color. '

  3. Get under the vehicle and check the wheel wells and underbody for rust, which could lead to future problems.

Why do car dealers not want you to pay cash? ›

Why do dealerships not want you to pay cash? Dealerships don't want you to pay cash because they don't earn a commission on arranging financing.

Do car salesmen really talk to managers? ›

For decades now, car salespeople have constantly gone to “talk my manager” for permission to negotiate during the sales process. This tactic, paired with countless other dealer antics is very frustrating for customers. If you're unfamiliar with your salesperson saying “let me go check with my manager,” you're lucky!

How do I make sure my car sale is legit? ›

How do you know if someone is scamming you for a car? ›

Scammers need to get your money before you've thought things through. If a seller says they're moving soon, going overseas, or selling fast for a relative, there's a good chance it's a scam. If they want you to pay with gift cards, it's definitely a scam. Don't do it.

How do you know if a car deal is too good to be true? ›

The deal is too good to be true

If the seller is too pushy, then they may be trying to take advantage of you. You should be able to see the car and inspect under the hood, inside the vehicle, etc. If the seller rushes you or says you can't look at part of the car, then you should be wary of the deal.
